Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Asheville Highlanders and Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas.

Starting pitcher Vince Moran pitched well enough to help the Asheville Highlanders beat the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 6-4. Moran got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Rob Sawyer got credit for the save for Asheville. It was his 4th of the year.

Early in the game, right fielder Eddie Jones had a 3-run home run for Asheville. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Highlanders on top, 3-0.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Jones.

Asheville, now 6-2, is setting the league on fire so far.
