Riding the 3-hit performance of the 24-year old center fielder Joaquim Pona, the Gulf Coast Turbeaus defeated the Barton Springs Blues, 5-2. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Kenny Flint. Barton Springs is now 2-6.

With Gulf Coast leading 3-0 in the top of the third, Pona came up to bat against Barton Springs pitcher Richard Fernández. Pona hit a changeup to left-center for a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Turbeaus on top, 5-0.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Pona said.
