Thunder Earn Win with Late Rally
Behind a solid performance from left fielder Mario Ornelas, the St. Petersburg Thunder defeated the Billings Polar Bears, 5-4. Ornelas went 3 for 6 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times for the Thunder. St. Petersburg reliever Sze Wan was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Fernando Ortega took the loss. Mike Parkinson recorded the save, his 2nd.

St. Petersburg used the timely hitting of Jeff Stewart to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunder on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I was a little disappointed," said Billings manager Justin Broadfoot. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

Billings now has a record of 2-6.
