MotorBoaters Capture Close Win
Lake Murray first baseman Ryan Hudson contributed significantly to his team's 5-4 win over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis. Hudson, the 28th overall pick in the 2053 draft, went 4 for 5 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the MotorBoaters. Pedro Ramírez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The loss drops Squirrel Hill to 3-6.

Lake Murray used the timely hitting of Rick Etheridge to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the MotorBoaters on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Ben Cooper told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
