The timely hitting of Iwao Saito helped the Marquette Miners down the Toledo Saboteurs, 8-2. Saito belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Miners. With the loss, Toledo is 3-7.

The Saboteurs had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Miners going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old right fielder Bud May came to the plate. May hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 changeup from Toledo hurler Peter Brenchley. It was May's 3rd home run of the year.

"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Saito told the Marquette Herald.
