The Billings Polar Bears outlasted Tom Gardner and the Arizona Javelina, 9-7. Gardner was impressive in the loss. The Arizona right fielder was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. The win lifts Billings to a record of 4-6.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Billings. That's when 23-year old center fielder Dou-guan Yang hit a grand slam home run off Jim Carter to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"This wasn't a good win," said Yang. "It was a great win."
