At Field of the Rawhides, the St. Petersburg Thunder and Squirrel Hill Pierogis were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Behind an impressive start by Oliver Reynolds, Squirrel Hill beat St. Petersburg, 5-1. George Harris closed it out for Squirrel Hill, earning his 2nd save.

Squirrel Hill took a 5-1 lead on Smarty Jones's 3rd double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Jones hit in the bottom of the seventh, left St. Petersburg pitcher Patrick Bowman visibly frustrated.

Jones said his team "played with focus and determination."
