Uemura Steers Chesapeake Past Javelina, 5-4
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas and Arizona Javelina.

The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas picked up a win at Javelina Ballpark, knocking off the Arizona Javelina, 5-4. Starting pitcher Sumiteru Uemura was a big reason why. The Javelina fall to 6-8 and continue to sputter in the early going.

Uemura, a native of Funabashi, Japan, was dealing all game. He kept Arizona hitters off-balance, while giving the Cangrejos Fantasmas 7 quality innings. Uemura threw 80 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 7.

"Sumiteru's a gamer," said Chesapeake manager John Moore. "Glad he's on our side."
