The Lake Murray MotorBoaters, despite a fine performance by Billings pitcher Len Horton, grabbed a 3-2 win at Heron Field. Horton allowed 2 runs over 6.1 innings. Dale Hodges earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 2-1. Mark Lee collected save number 2.

The Polar Bears had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the MotorBoaters going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old left fielder Hugh Kneecorn came to the plate. Kneecorn hit a 2-run home run on a 1-0 changeup from Billings hurler Len Horton. It was Kneecorn's 1st home run of the year.

"Tough loss," said Billings manager Justin Broadfoot. "But we'll learn from it."

With the loss, Billings is 6-8.
