Loony Bin was the site of a competitive game between the St. Petersburg Thunder and Minnesota Loons.
Both offenses were relatively subdued at Loony Bin. Fortunately for the Minnesota Loons, though, Thomas Clinkinboomer was able to deliver in the clutch. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times, to lead his team past the St. Petersburg Thunder, 3-1. With the win, Minnesota is 7-7.
The Loons had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 3-1, Minnesota, with no one out. St. Petersburg, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Allen Hale dug in at the plate, but on a 2-1 fastball, he hit into a double play.
