Thunder Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the St. Petersburg Thunder and the Minnesota Loons. St. Petersburg won it, 1-0. St. Petersburg starter Graeme Boucher was in command. Mike Parkinson got credit for the save for St. Petersburg. It was his 3rd of the year. St. Petersburg is now 8-7.
The win was a team effort for St. Petersburg. Third Baseman Santiago Rodríguez was among the key contributors. In the top of the second, he put his team in front, 1-0, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"Good teams find a way to win close games," Rodríguez said.
