The Asheville Highlanders picked up a win at Asheville Park, knocking off the Minnesota Loons, 6-4. Starting pitcher Edward Lamb played a key role in the triumph. Vince Moran recorded the save for Asheville, his 7th of the season. Asheville goes to 10-6 with the win.

The Highlanders got a big hit from first baseman Fred Kalkman. In the bottom of the sixth, Kalkman smacked a bases-clearing double off Minnesota pitcher Daniel Shields. It was his 4th double of the season. Suddenly, the Highlanders were ahead, 3-2.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Kalkman told the Asheville Chronicle.
