Big Day for O'Bryan as Thunder Hawks Down Pilgrims, 7-1
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks defeated the Providence Pilgrims, 7-1, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Ft. Polk South third baseman Gilby O'Bryan had a superb performance. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The Pilgrims fall to 7-9 and continue their lackluster start in 2055.
With Ft. Polk South leading 3-0 in the bottom of the second, O'Bryan hit a circle change from Min-zhong Deng for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 6-0.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," O'Bryan told a Ft. Polk South Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
