Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and Toronto Thunder.
Northern Virginia pitcher Chris Jackson did his part in helping his team defeat the Toronto Thunder, 4-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Juan Carlos Mejía closed the door for Northern Virginia, picking up his 15th save of the year.
José Mondragon, who leads the PL in RBI with 56, had a direct impact on the outcome. Mondragon contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Northern Virginia up, 4-1.
"I still think this team can play even better," Mondragon told the Northern Virginia Observer.
Northern Virginia's record now stands at 46-36, placing them third in the Premier League.
