The Squirrel Hill Pierogis downed the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 7-3, at Mobile Home Park. The Pierogis were led by Bob Cole. Cole was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI. The defeat makes Gulf Coast 8-8.

With Squirrel Hill leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Cole hit a 2-run single off Gulf Coast hurler Artie Jones. It was the 16th hit of the season for Cole and put his team ahead, 3-0.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Cole told the Squirrel Hill Daily.
