Guinea Pigs Drop Saboteurs, 6-3
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs knocked off the Toledo Saboteurs, 6-3, in USSL Double A action at Toledo Backyard Park. Gwinnett pitcher and Edwardsville, Pennsylvania, native J.J. Hebert had an outstanding performance. Hyung-oo Cho closed out the game, earning his 1st save. With their winning streak at 5, the Guinea Pigs have raced to a strong start this season.
Gwinnett used the hitting of James Sterling to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Guinea Pigs on top, 2-0. For the game, Sterling had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Hebert.
