Due in part to catcher Ryan Witt, the Billings Polar Bears chopped down the St. Petersburg Thunder, 15-12, in 11 innings. Witt slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 7. The winner in relief was Thomas Reed. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. The loss puts St. Petersburg at 8-9.

Ricardo Alfaro played the role of hero for Billings. In the bottom of the 11th, he launched a 3-run home run off Troy Edwards to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was the decisive blow.
