New Orleans Loses, 9-8, Despite Veeck Exploits
The Baltimore Bullets besoiled an otherwise fine performance by New Orleans right fielder Chris Veeck by beating the Voodoo, 9-8, at Baltimore Grounds. Veeck was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Baltimore reliever Kenny Riley was the winner. His record is now 4-2. Tetsu Gato took the loss. Alfonso Crisci got credit for the save for Baltimore. It was his 1st of the year.

Arturo Prado helped out the Baltimore cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Prado said.

The Bullets raised their record to 31-51.
