Mexico City got a decent performance from pitcher Brandon Fox, but it wasn't enough to beat the New Orleans Voodoo. New Orleans won the The Voodoo Lounge contest, 3-0. Fox threw 8.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Bob Douglas earned the save, his 18th in 18 tries. The triumph puts New Orleans at 43-39 for the season.
In the top of the ninth, Bill Spillman stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Blue Demons were trailing 3-0, but had the bases loaded. That's when Bob Douglas made a terrific pitch and Spillman flied out. Gone was the dream of a Mexico City comeback.
