Pierogis Come Back Late to Clip Guinea Pigs
The Squirrel Hill Pierogis claimed a close win over the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, due in large part to José Contreras. The Squirrel Hill left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 1-0 win. George Harris nailed down the save. Squirrel Hill sits at 10-9 in the early going.

Squirrel Hill used the timely hitting of Stu Kennedy to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pierogis on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Contreras told a Squirrel Hill Daily reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
