Bulls Hand Niagara Falls 2-1 Loss
|
In a low-scoring game between the Belleville Bulls and the Niagara Falls Expos, pitcher Earnest Sorensen was masterful on the mound. The Belleville left-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Sorensen got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 2 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. The loss drops the Expos to 0-3.
Belleville left fielder Nicholas Pierson landed a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. It was his 1st home run of the season. With it, the Bulls took a 2-1 lead.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Sorensen told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
