Riding the 2-hit performance of the 26-year old first baseman Hokusai Suzuki, the Asheville Highlanders defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders, 8-2. To call the performance of the 2058 Fur Traders subpar is an understatement.

Asheville relied on the bat of Tom Baker to get the win. The second baseman produced a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Highlanders ahead, 2-0. For the game, Baker had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Jeff Rutherford.
