MotorBoaters Top Thunder, 3-2

The bats were silent much of the day at Baby Thunder Dome. But former first round draft pick Ryan Hudson produced just enough offense to carry the MotorBoaters past the St. Petersburg Thunder, 3-2. Hudson went 2-4 with 2 home runs. Bill Marshall was the winner. He's now 3-1. The loser was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Hal Gaines. Max Burse picked up the save for Lake Murray, his 2nd of the year.
Hudson had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-1 sinker from Hal Gaines, he banged a solo home run to center, giving the MotorBoaters a 3-2 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Hudson.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said St. Petersburg manager Alejandro Mingo. "We just didn't cash in."
The win puts the MotorBoaters at 12-10, while the Thunder drop to 12-10.
