Turbeaus Shut Out Thunder, 4-0
|
Gulf Coast picked up a win at Mobile Home Park, bumping off the St. Petersburg Thunder, 4-0. Pitcher Kevin Harris was a major reason the Turbeaus emerged victorious. In 6.2 innings, Harris surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The 9th-place Turbeaus own a record of 7-15.
The Thunder had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Turbeaus going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old left fielder Iván Bautista came to the plate. Bautista hit a 3-run home run on a 2-1 fastball from St. Petersburg hurler Pancho Maldonado. It was Bautista's 1st home run of the year.
Bautista attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
