Thunder Use Late Surge to Win
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the St. Petersburg Thunder and Lake Murray MotorBoaters.

The St. Petersburg Thunder knocked off the Lake Murray MotorBoaters, 4-2, at Baby Thunder Dome. Carl Flowers hit 2 singles and 2 doubles, while driving in 2 runs. Jen-djieh Li picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Rory Taylor was tagged with the loss. Keith Greene recorded the save, his 6th.

Had Flowers not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Flowers hit a 2-run single. The Thunder took the lead, 4-2, and never looked back.

Flowers attributed the triumph to "a good team effort."

The first-place Thunder sport a record of 13-10.
