The Asheville Highlanders banked on Haden Manning and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Northville hitters in check. The final score was 2-0, Highlanders. With the win, Asheville pushed its record to 14-10.

Doug Malone had a critical at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for Asheville. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Asheville in front, 2-0.

"I still think this team can play even better," Manning told the Asheville Gazette.
