7-2 Win by Hops Continues Hot Start
|
Yakima Hops starter Robbie Edmond turned in a top-notch performance against the Marquette Miners at Marquette Stadium. The result was a win for the Hops, 7-2. Jesús Rivera picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Mario Ledezma was tagged with the loss. The triumph puts Yakima at 17-7 for the season.
Brian Orpen helped the cause in the top of the seventh. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. His at-bat contributed to the Yakima win.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Edmond told the Yakima Daily News. "You win just by scoring more runs."
