The home crowd had a good time watching the Toledo Saboteurs and Asheville Highlanders get after it.
Asheville Highlanders starter Ray Campbell turned in an exceptional performance against the Toledo Saboteurs at Asheville Park, resulting in a Asheville win, 3-2. Asheville now has a record of 15-10 with the win.
Had Timmo Pelikaan not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Pelikaan hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Highlanders.
"We found a way to get it done," Pelikaan said.
