8-4 Triumph Takes Billings to 17-8
|
The Billings Polar Bears topped the Northville Eclipse, 8-4, with left fielder Javier Romero playing a big role. Romero went 2-4 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Polar Bears in the win. The winning pitcher was Chris Barber. His record now stands at 3-2. The right-hander went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits for the Polar Bears. With the win, Billings raised its record to 17-8.
With Billings leading 4-3 in the top of the seventh, Romero hit a curveball from Álex Cruz for a bases-clearing double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Polar Bears ahead, 7-3.
"Winning never gets dull," said Romero.
