Highlanders Curb Thunder, 4-3

Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Asheville Highlanders and St. Petersburg Thunder.
The Asheville Highlanders scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the St. Petersburg Thunder at Asheville Park. Asheville pitcher Scott Hall held his own in the contest. In 7.2 innings, Hall surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Highlanders took the lead, 3-1, when 26-year old left fielder Matt Askin drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Hall. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
The third-place Thunder now sit at 15-11.
