Polar Bears Dealt 3-1 Loss
|
The Squirrel Hill Pierogis took on the Billings Polar Bears at Field of the Rawhides.
In a tight contest between the Squirrel Hill Pierogis and the Billings Polar Bears, José Sandoval was the determining factor. The Squirrel Hill right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. Eugene Ingram was credited with the save for Squirrel Hill, his 1st of the season.
Stu Kennedy had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fifth for Squirrel Hill. With the bases loaded and the Pierogis leading 2-1, he hit a sacrifice fly.
Squirrel Hill manager Ben Cooper commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
Squirrel Hill, at 15-12, sits in third place in the Silver AA.
