Cangrejos Fantasmas Grind Out 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas and the Arizona Javelina, 22-year old left-handed pitcher Bob Merendino was the difference-maker. The Chesapeake left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. With the win, Chesapeake upped its record to 15-13.
Artie White, who is tied for 2nd in the SAA with a .370 batting average, took Arizona hurler León Berroa deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Cangrejos Fantasmas on top, 2-0. In all, White had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Cangrejos Fantasmas," said White.
