Gwinnett Wins, 5-4, Over Thunder
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs beat the St. Petersburg Thunder, 5-4, in 10 innings. Gwinnett pitcher and Edwardsville, Pennsylvania, native J.J. Hebert led the way. Matt Griffin picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Travis Paul suffered the loss. The Guinea Pigs move to 18-13 with the win, while the Thunder drop to 16-15.
The Guinea Pigs got a clutch hit from shortstop William Carson. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Guinea Pigs.
