Vitale Piantini, who is tied for 8th in the SAA in strikeouts with 43, was locked in. The right-hander led the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks to a 4-2 win against the Northville Eclipse at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Adam Hill recorded the save for Ft. Polk South, his 2nd of the season. The 'W' lifts Ft. Polk South's record to 14-18.
Bo Young cracked a home run off Sonny Smith in the bottom of the second. His 2-run blast put the Thunder Hawks on top, 2-1. In all, Young had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
Said losing manager Daniel Katz: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
