The Providence Pilgrims got a superb performance from pitcher Lee Kennedy. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Ithaca. The Fighting Imps won the game, 1-0. Kennedy threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. Ithaca is 5th in the Silver AA with a record of 16-16.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Ithaca third baseman Walt Meyer, facing Orlando Sánchez, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Fighting Imps the 1-0 win.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Tony Sánchez.
