The Asheville Highlanders bumped off the Billings Polar Bears, 9-4, at Asheville Park. Carlos Chávez hit 1 single and 1 double. He also had 4 RBI. The Highlanders are now 19-14.

Chávez contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Asheville in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-1, Chávez took a sinker from Iván Trevizo and stroked the double to right-center. His 1st double of the season allowed the Highlanders to leap in front, 4-2.

"We maximized our offense today," said Asheville skipper Chris Sanders. "That makes everyone's life easier."
