Pitching was the name of the game for the Billings Polar Bears and the Barton Springs Blues. Billings won it, 2-1, in 10 innings. Billings starter Mike Pace was in command. Barton Springs, at 12-22, has lost 5 straight.
The decisive blow was delivered by Martín Rodríguez in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Tom Butler to win the game for Billings. The home crowd went nuts.
"Mike went out and did what we needed," said Billings manager Justin Broadfoot.
