The Toledo Saboteurs picked up a win at Toledo Backyard Park, defeating the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 4-2. Starting pitcher Steve Stewart was an essential part of his team's success. Adam Smith got credit for the save for Toledo. It was his 7th of the year. With the win, the Saboteurs have a record of 17-18.
The Saboteurs had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 4-2, Toledo, with one out. Squirrel Hill, with runners on 1st and 3rd, was mounting a threat. Jorge Vallejo dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 fastball, he hit into a double play.
