Pilgrims right fielder Egor Karakai left his mark on his team's 8-6 win over the Gulf Coast Turbeaus. Karakai, who is tied for 4th in the SAA in triples with 2, was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Providence in the contest. Gabriel Reyes, the winner, is now 3-2. He struck out 1 and walked 1 over 5.1 innings, while allowing 6 runs on 7 hits. Chris McElroy earned his 11th save, after closing out the game.

Providence used a well-timed hit by Denny Townsend to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pilgrims ahead, 7-3. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Townsend.

Providence, at 15-21, occupies 8th place in the Silver AA.
