Blues Best Highlanders in Pitching Duel

The Barton Springs Blues used a great performance from Tony Icaza, who leads the SAA in complete games with 1, to beat the Asheville Highlanders, 2-1, at Blues Field. The winner was Icaza. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was José Bojórquez. Aaron Arnold, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.
In the bottom of the first inning, the Blues grabbed the lead when Robert William rapped a two-out single. Barton Springs was trailing 1-0, when William hit a 2-run single off José Bojórquez to put his team in front, 2-1.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," William said.
The win has Barton Springs at 14-23.
