Turbeaus Claim Late Win
|
The Turbeaus grabbed a win, 5-3, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Ft. Polk South pitcher Rafael Videla. Videla went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Tan-ming Lou notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Jason Taylor, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save.
Gulf Coast used the timely hitting of Kelvin Reynolds to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Turbeaus on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Gulf Coast manager John Simpson.
Their 21-16 record puts the Turbeaus 4th in the Silver AA.
