Providence got a valiant performance from pitcher Kendrick McAllister, but it wasn't enough to beat the St. Petersburg Thunder. St. Petersburg won the game, 9-3. McAllister threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Jay Whitney earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 6 hits in 2.2 innings.
