Tacoma Loses Again, 6-3
The Asheville Highlanders cut down the Tacoma Fur Traders by the score of 6-3, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Lorenzo Álvarez. Álvarez went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Highlanders. Rick Behan collected save number 2. The losses continue to mount for Tacoma, which has now dropped 7 in a row.

Álvarez contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Asheville in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-1, Álvarez took a fastball from Todd McGregor and stroked the home run to right. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Highlanders to leap in front, 4-3.

"We take it day by day here," said Álvarez, "and today was a good one for us."
