John Matthews was a major factor in the 11-4 Toronto win over Buffalo. The Thunder right fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Toronto is 50-35 and Buffalo, with the loss, 32-53.

Lance Slaymaker, who is a two-time Gold Glove winner, aided the Toronto cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh. For the game, the catcher was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk.

"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Matthews. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
