Northville Beats Providence, 6-1

Providence got a decent performance from pitcher Bob Wicks, but it wasn't enough to beat the Northville Eclipse. Northville won the Field of Plenty contest, 6-1. Wicks threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Steve Boyd, now 3-0, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Northville is in second place in the Silver AA with a record of 26-19.
Ray Draper tagged a home run off Bob Wicks in the top of the first. His solo blast put the Eclipse on top, 1-0. In all, Draper had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Justin Moore, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
