The Barton Springs Blues could not turn a fine performance from designated hitter Ralph Garrison into a win. Instead, the Ithaca Fighting Imps prevailed, 8-3. Garrison went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. The winner was Ithaca reliever Vern Huffman, now 1-3. The loser was William Richmond. The Fighting Imps improved to 25-25.

Savannah, Georgia-born Jeffery Foster came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Fighting Imps trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Ithaca on top.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Foster.
