The Barton Springs Blues topped the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 4-2, in USSL Double A action at Experimental Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Barton Springs pitcher and Independence, Missouri, native William Richmond. Tom Butler closed it out for his 9th save. With this game in the books, Barton Springs is 22-28, Gwinnett 29-21.
Chris Knight, who is tied for 7th in the SAA in home runs with 9, had a direct impact on the outcome. Knight contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Barton Springs up, 4-2.
Gwinnett manager Clarence Sloan said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
