Highlanders second baseman Adrián Salazar left his imprint on his team's 11-4 win over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis. Salazar went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for Asheville in the contest. Asheville, at 31-19, is 2 games up in the Silver AA.

Arturo Martas had a big 3-run home run for the Highlanders in the bottom of the first inning. With Asheville trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Sean Jones and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Highlanders on top, 4-2.
