The Toledo Stingers downed the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 6-1, at Pacesetter Park. Stellar pitching by Kyle Chambers had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 8th in the PL in wins with 7, handcuffed his opponent all game. Tim Evans, credited with the save, is now 6 for 7 in save opportunities. Toledo now has a record of 50-35 with the win.

Viet Long had a big 2-run double for the Stingers in the bottom of the first inning. With Toledo leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Marty Collins, who is tied for 8th in the PL in wins with 7, and swatted a double to center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stingers ahead, 3-0.

"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Chambers.
