Billings beat Chesapeake in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Billings Polar Bears defeated the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 7-3, at The Igloo. Billings catcher Craig Stafford had a superb performance. He was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The Polar Bears now own a record of 30-22.
Carl Silva, the Billings first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 5-3, Polar Bears. For the game, Silva went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Stafford.
