Bethesda and Olympia duked it out and the Atoms came out victorious.

The Bethesda Atoms beat the Olympia Ogres, 6-4, at Atoms Field. The win was due in part to third baseman Brian Pierce, who went 2-3 with a double, while adding 4 RBI. The losing streak for Olympia has now reached 5 games.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Pierce delivered big-time for Bethesda, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Eric Shank. The game-changing hit put the Atoms on top, 6-4.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Pierce told the Bethesda Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
