The Asheville Highlanders racked up a win at Asheville Park, bumping off the Lake Murray MotorBoaters, 9-4. Lúcio Patino, who started for Asheville, pitched effectively for his team. Asheville, at 34-20, is 2½ games up in the Silver AA.

Arturo Martas had a big hit for Asheville in the bottom of the first inning. With Asheville leading 1-0, Martas hit a 3-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Highlanders up, 4-0.

"Lúcio's as tough as he is talented," said Asheville manager Chris Sanders.
