Thunder Bridle Polar Bears, 3-1

The St. Petersburg Thunder topped the Billings Polar Bears, 3-1, in USSL Double A action at Baby Thunder Dome. The game was highlighted by the performance of St. Petersburg pitcher Julien Parmentier. Parmentier, now 1-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The win elevated the Thunder to 29-26.
In the top of the ninth, John Sears stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Polar Bears were trailing 3-1, but had the bases loaded. That's when Arturo Martínez made a terrific pitch and Sears lined out. Gone was the dream of a Billings comeback.
