Xin Now 3-7 After Beating Polar Bears

A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the St. Petersburg Thunder and Billings Polar Bears.
The St. Petersburg Thunder topped the Billings Polar Bears, 6-1, in USSL Double A action at Baby Thunder Dome. The game was highlighted by the performance of St. Petersburg pitcher Lan-quing Xin. St. Petersburg is 27-28 and Billings, with the loss, 28-27.
Xin, who leaned on his cutter, allowed 1 run on just 3 hits over 7.2 innings for the Thunder. For the most part, Billings hitters were simply overmatched.
St. Petersburg manager Alejandro Mingo commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
