New Orleans pitcher Alex Thompson had a large part in his team beating the Colorado Billy Goats, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Jared Wilson earned his 25th save, after closing out the game. The first-place Voodoo lifted their record to 51-35.

With two out in the top of the ninth, Shu-yaan Hor had a game-changing hit. The Voodoo designated hitter slammed a 2-run single off Tamasaburo Kishita, making the score 5-2, New Orleans.

"Alex was commanding his pitches," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims.
