The first-place Asheville Highlanders took on the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs in front of a spirited crowd.

The Asheville Highlanders locked up a win at Asheville Park, knocking off the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 7-0. On the mound for Asheville was right-hander Doyle Manning. He played a major role in the triumph. The Highlanders lead the Silver AA by 5 games.

Dong-hua Sima had a big 2-run double for the Highlanders in the bottom of the second inning. With Asheville leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Rod Pritchard, who is tied for 7th in the SAA in strikeouts with 63, and swatted a double to left. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Highlanders ahead, 4-0.

Sima attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
