Polar Bears Beat Thunder, 3-1
Good production from center fielder Martín Rodríguez helped the Billings Polar Bears topple the St. Petersburg Thunder, 3-1. Rodríguez was 3 for 4 with 3 singles for the Polar Bears. The win went to Roberto Rodríguez in relief, making him now 3-1. Hal Gaines took the loss for St. Petersburg. The Polar Bears improved their record to 29-27 with the win over St. Petersburg.

With Billings leading 1-0 in the top of the eighth, Rodríguez hit a run-scoring single off St. Petersburg hurler Troy Edwards. It was the 36th hit of the season for Rodríguez and put his team ahead, 2-0.

"We busted our tails," said St. Petersburg manager Alejandro Mingo. "But we came up short."
